Terms and Conditions
Bookings:
All correspondence with regards to tours and travel services bookings/amendments/cancellations must be in writing.
Hotel check-in time is 14:00 hrs. Immediate occupancy when checking in before the scheduled time, can be arranged at an additional cost as per the hotel policies
Hotel check-out time is 12:00 hrs. Late check-out is subject to availability and hotel policies
All hotels and restaurants are subject to availability at the time of booking
Itineraries are subject to change
Payments:
For the contracted services, 50% advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis. The balance amount can be paid before arrival in India. Historical Journeys reserves the right to change the above based on the nature of the services and the time remaining for the commencement of the services.
In some special cases such as luxury train journeys, hotel booking during peak tourist season in India, full payment is required in advance.

Overseas payments can be made using any of the following methods –

Cancellations / Amendments:
In the event of cancellation of any services by guests/clients, Historical Journeys must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be applicable as under –
90 – 75 days prior to arrival : 20% of total invoice value
75 – 60 days prior to arrival : 50% of total invoice value
60 – 30 days prior to arrival : 70% of total invoice value
Less than 30 days prior to arrival : no refund
Travel during peak season in India (December 20th till January 10th) would attract full retention as required by hotels and airlines.
Refund:
With regards to refund of unused services (which have been paid for and cancelled in advance), the refund amount will be worked out on the basis of cancellation policy as described above. The refund amount will be processed by bank transfer and the charges of the same will be borne by the guest/ agent.
Liabilities and Limitations:
Historical Journeys Private Limited –
Acts in the capacity of agent providing services for the hotels, airlines, transport services and railways. All exchange orders, receipts, contracts and tickets issued by the company are subject to terms and conditions as applicable by the individual constituents of the packaged services.
Shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the program or expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, political closures or any untoward incidents.
Shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to a person, property or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting directly or indirectly from any causes beyond our control.
Does not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for loss due to theft, accidents, sickness, death. Travellers are strongly recommended to procure a Travel Insurance in their home countries. All baggage & personal property are the responsibility of the guest.
Indian VISA:
You are responsible for obtaining a valid visa for India. The Indian Government now allows US, UK and Canadian passport holders to apply for a simple tourist visa online (https://www.indianvisaonline.gov.in) without having to send in their passports. This electronic visa is valid for one stay of up to 30 days. Visas can also be obtained at a local embassy or consulate before arriving in India.
Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after the date of entry and have at least two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer.
